local or International , whats a better brand?

Ever wondered what will make a better Franchise in Nigeria ? Tastee Fried Chicken or Nando's , Sweet Sensation or Chicken Republic , Mama Kas or Barcelos .. do the International brands really turnover more cash than the local brands ? ...

I will go for sweet sensation any day any time.

Being that most Nigerians prefer the typical MamaKas and sweet sensation . how come people still prefer to buy a Nandos Franchise ?.... puzzles me completely .. if more people will franchise our local brands it will make them even bigger ... that's just my two cents .. food for thought

This is interesting, lets now talk about developing local businesses, one of the down sides in the down sides in the country is peoples interest to buy products from abroad, mainly because they don't trust the local brand, so what chance does a local franchise have, if they have to compete with that type of mentality.

For now , people will always go for international brands because local brands are ALWAYS low quality , reason being that cost of production in this country is overwhelming high due to certain factors like ; lack of adequate power supply and government tariffs on importation .

Recently countries like Ghana have been inviting Nigerian firms that are into manufacturing to setup operations in their major cities , they promise them certain incentives that are very attractive . if this becomes fully operational , maybe in the next couple of years we will be able to brag of a reliable 'Made in Nigeria Brand'

But then again .. it won't be 100% made in Nigeria.... lol
